Before starting any application, we inspect the structural integrity of the floor, noting all cracks, pock marks, and poorly cured concrete.
-
Then we measure the interior (not just the surface) moisture content of the floor, the floor temperature, and the air temperature. Moisture content readings are taken at multiple locations through out the floor, because moisture content can vary greatly throughout a single slab.
-
We order materials and create an installation plan based on the information gathered to ensure that the most ideal products for each particular floor are applied. Every concrete floor is different, so most Rocksteady installations are unique to the each job.
-
We grind the floor with a high-performance, industrial-grade diamond grinder to correct irregularities and remove all contaminants that may prevent the coating from bonding to the concrete. This is done on every floor.
-
While floor is being ground, we fill all cracks and divots with a fast-setting, extremely hard Polyurea product to create a blemish-free concrete surface.
-
When all contaminants have been removed and the floor has been thoroughly prepped, we mix our product and prepare for application.
-
The application process usually goes very quickly. In most cases, we install a tinted primer and base coat, a color chip layer, and then finish it off with an extremely durable clear topcoat.
-
The floor is ready for normal use by the next day in many cases.
